Thema: Kanadische SchwarzePerle - Übersetzungsfrage Di März 29, 2011 9:25 am
Huhu,
Zitat :
*** Copy/pasted from Jaguar's BP thread in the Int version***
Hi guys, this thread is for all you budding artists out there who perhaps have submitted coats in the past or perhaps aren't intending to submit anything but would like to give a hand to those who need it.
What we're after are some free line art bases, for use by anyone for the purpose of the Black Pearl (or indeed, for banners and profiles if players would prefer). These line drawings can be coloured, adapted or refiddled in any way you would like, and can be legally submitted as Black Pearl coats when the Black Pearl is restocked.
* For submittersS:
If you're an artist intending to submit a coat for use by anyone here, please remember:
The coat MUST be your own work - preferably hand drawn work, whether that be by hand on an art programme or physically on a piece of paper and then scanned on.
You can use a photograph to use as inspiration, but please don't trace it. If you're using a photograph or graphic from the internet to inspire you, please make sure it is copyright free and available for use by anyone. If you are not sure, please assume that copyright exists on it and therefore cannot be used - or at least, you cannot tell what you were looking at when you were drawing it!
Please do NOT use Breyer Models or pinch things from DeviantArt. If we see a coat that looks like it's from there, we WILL be checking with that artist.
You are happy for anyone to use your work here and adapt it as they want.
Please put up the graphics here if possible - there is a thread on the Events forum describing how to put up a graphic on a forum if you need it. You will have to upload the picture somewhere on the internet before you can put it up here - photobucket is one example of a free hosting site.
I'm hoping that no one will abuse this thread, but please note that players stealing pictures or claiming other people's work is their own WILL be sanctioned.
Pictures should preferably be literally just line art, to make it easier for other players to use for their own artistic creations. This means that you show the outline and possibly some detailing (such as major muscles, eyes, mouth etc) but do not use shading or colour.
I would strongly recommend players do not put up any pictures they are intending to use themselves on the Black Pearl, unless they are certain that they do not mind the possibilities of other players using it at the same time.
Feel free to put up other help threads in your own EC forums for guides on how to colour in the bases or format etc
* FFor players wanting to submit to the black pearl:
You are able to use any of the coats listed for a submission in the Black Pearl, although you will need to do something to the coat to make it your own piece of work. Examples could be:
Colouration and markings Additions - perhaps turn it into a pegasus or unicorn? Alterations - perhaps change the legs or alter the mane or tail
Remember that you cannot: a) do a "pegicorn" (winged unicorn) - one or the other please! b) add tack to a horse - however, you can draw "accessories" (perhaps ribbons, fancy collar, feathers to the mane etc). Basically we don't want someone to be confused on whether a horse they buy is tacked or not. c) coat needs to be a horse alone, no elaborate backgrounds with trees and flowers etc
Please note that you should look to make the work as professional as you possibly can, so the more time spent on it is preferred. If you're not sure how to get the best from an art's programme, try some help guides on google or perhaps see whether the artist has a help guide in their own EC forum on how to do colouring, shading and the like. Don't feel rushed to finish it.
The main reasons for coats being rejected are the following:
a) formatting is incorrect - if you are not sure how to format your coat, please ask for help
b) the coat does not fit in with Howrse's style - this is normally down to things like the coat isn't smooth or you can see the pencil marks. Smudging tools and the like are wonderful for finishing up.
c) the coat is copyrighted, or is just an amended photograph.
To use one of the coats, the best way is normally to right click on the image, use "save image as..." and then you can open it in the graphics programme of your choice. Please note that these coats will NOT be formatted correctly - you will need to do that after you have completed your coat.
Any problems, send me a PM or give me a shout. In the hopefully rare situation where someone suspects another player has pinched a coat, please send the details with the coat and the evidence to a moderator of your choice - please do NOT accuse any player on this thread. If we find that the coat is unsuitable, we will remove it asap.

Hey^^
lg, Misuki
